Unlike other lenders, private banks don’t tend to slavishly follow a tick box, computer-says-no approach to applications.
They can take a more flexible and bespoke view of an applicant’s status and the ability to put funds under management (although this isn’t always the case) in order to secure funding. Private bank mortgages are generally £1 million plus, and, on occasion, are actually less expensive than mainstream lenders’ mortgages, depending on a client’s status and wealth.
